People I look up to

I actually look up to so many folks. Anyone who has overcome an obstacle, for example, cancer, any disability, even someone who told them they couldn't do something...I look up to those who overcome. I look up to folks who stand their ground. It's easy to be politically correct or go with the folks you're around, but I look up to someone who stands up for what she/he believes in whether I agree with them or not. I like to know folks for who they are and what they believe and I look up to someone who is the same, even if it isn't popular at the time. I look up to teachers. If you think about it, they hold the future in their hands each day they teach. I look up greatly to fire fighters...those who run into a building when everyone else is running out! They are heroes...all of them and I greatly look up to military folks. They are serving their country (in my case USA) and they have more stamina and nerve and bravery than I could ever imagine having and I appreciate each military person out there....THANK YOU! I also look up to the usual people that most look up to...my parents, my grandparents, my husband, my church family, leaders, and I look up to police officers. I realize that not every one is a "nice guy", but the majority imho are, and I look up to them and appreciate the difficult job that they have to do. I also look up to a group of folks that I never thought I'd look up to...truck drivers. I know some think this is nuts, but hubby drives an 18-wheeler and one trip with him taught me just how much crap these guys and gals take from the general public every day. They deliver most everything that we purchase and it isn't easy, so hats off to the truckers too.

Interesting facts about me

I collect teddy bears, especially Boyd's bears! Hubby and I will be married 5 years as of August, 2008 Actually I'm updating this Aug. 11, so in a week we will celebrate our anniversary. Actually we are going out of town this weekend to celebrate. I enjoy singing (I just sing in church) and am a member of a writer's group. I have several "Emergency" fan fic stories on the net! That's an old show from the 70's that I just love and some day I plan to write a book! I enjoy seeing other's point of view especially when it comes to soaps! I guess that about sums me up. lol Teddy Bear Writing Recliner Actually I've left out some important things...silly me! I've Got It I've Got It On a physical note, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis which resulted last March (2007) in me being the youngest person in the county to receive an artificial knee. Now, with the year anniversary approaching, I'm going to need to have the other knee replaced. They both have been bone on bone for some time which is painful, but the doc and I only wanted to do one at a time. I think about my knees every time I see Stephanie limp on B&B. I wouldn't wish this surgery and rehab on anyone. Okay, back to fun things! Couples
Okay, let me do some more updating here. On May 27, 2008 I had the other knee replaced. The surgery went well but pain control was a huge issue. Ouch As if that wasn't bad enough, on June 16, 2008, I woke up with a temperature of 104.5. I honestly thought I was gonna die. Hubby called 911 and off to the hospital for anohter week. This time I was in ICU for 3 days and the hospital for a week. I had bilateral pneumonia and then the anitbiotics they were filling me with had a reaction and now I have a very small amount of kidney damage. Anyhow, I haven't been posting as I would like to on the B&B site, but I'll do my best to do better. My knee is doing well in spite of everything. I'm still having post-pneumonia problems. Fluid has gathered around my sternum and I'm still coughing, but am getting better, hopefully daily! Okay, I think that catches me up for now. I hope that all of you have better things going on than I do right now and that your summer is fantastic! Wanda

imageSorry it's taken me so long to get back with ya. I've been back in the hospital again...this summer has been a nightmare. I've actually been in the hospital more than I've been at home and now I'm dealing with post pneumonia problems. I'll try to post as much as possible though, and I'm finally caught up on B&B! Wanda
